I hope you're not all sick of looking at this cover art, because I'm still utterly in love with it! :) |
Well, it's June 2nd, and the official publication date of my science fiction novel, DERELICT.
The story has been two years in the making, from my initial ideas in June of 2012, to a finished, polished novel in 2014.
The story of Ro, Nomi, Micah, Jem, and Barre could not have come to fruition without the support and patience of my family and my writing circle and I am extremely grateful for having these amazing people in my life.
To Chris Howard, who created the stunning artwork and captured Ro's loneliness and determination, my sincere thanks and deep appreciation.
There are also several authors whose work I respect, who have lent their support: To Lynn Viehl, Nathan Lowell, and Wen Spencer, thank you for believing in me.
This is what they have said about DERELICT:
"Get on board Derelict, and you'll take an edgy, nonstop flight into an audacious SF future with unremitting danger as your pilot -- and thrilling adventure your destination."
~Lynn Viehl, NYT best selling author of the Stardoc and Darkyn series
"There's something special about watching an author reach her stride. LJ Cohen has done just that in Derelict. Intricate plotting melded seamlessly with delightful characterizations kept me turning pages as fast as I could go in an attempt to keep up with the unfolding story. A cracking yarn set in a lush future I'm hoping we'll hear more of."
~Nathan Lowell, Creator of the Golden Age of the Solar Clipper and the Tanyth Fairport Adventures.
"LJ Cohen deftly weaves together realistic teenage characters, futuristic technology, and big stakes for a real page turner."
~ Wen Spencer, Award winning SF&F novelist, author of the Ukiah Oregon and Elfhome series
I am so grateful for their support and encouragement. If you are interested in reading DERELICT, it is available as a trade paperback and eBook in all the usual places.
