Moving right along. And so far, I'm using my outline as a roadmap. The scene I just finished is a high stakes scene, where Lydia is confronted with the possibility of getting what she wants, along with the price she will need to pay to get it.
While nothing blows up either literally or figuratively in the scene, it was a wrenching one to write. I've left Lydia in a place of deep loss and despair.
I feel guilty.
I know how her story will end, and that there is hope, but she doesn't know that yet.
It will take a few more chapters before she can see it. And between here and there, a battle with the Fey equivalent of scorched earth, a major confrontation, and yet another life altering decision.
