Sigh.
If I ever needed a reminder that I'm not in my 20s anymore, this was it. 6 weeks of partial weight bearing on crutches and that pesky 5th metatarsal fracture isn't fully healed.
Yes, I'm taking calcium, drinking milk, eating leafy greens.
Yes, I should know exactly how best to protect the foot during the healing process. If I were my own patient, I would tell me to take it easy. But I'm a card-carrying member of the 'do as I say not as I do' school of life. I'm sure that I've been up on my feet far more than is advisable.
I'm doing my best to limit the weight bearing.
Honest.
I think health care folks make the worst patients.
On the positive side, since I'm doing a lot of sitting right now, I spent the weekend editing "MindBlind." I haven't done more than glance at this manuscript in nearly a year. It was quite remarkable to return to it with fresh eyes and see it as a strong story. 13 chapters edited, a few plot holes filled in. All in all, I'm happy with it and am considering querying for this novel over the winter, once I've completed the editing.
I also have done some brainstorming for the new project, working title "Under the Full Wolf Moon." An urban fantasy without any vampires or were-creatures. :)
