In the face of all the loss and suffering in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, this is a small thing. But if you are a pet-lover, please be sure to take a look at the Save-a-dog website.
They are the organization we adopted our dog from and they have several teams of volunteers in New Orleans rescuing pets. If you live in the greater Boston area, you can volunteer to be a temporary foster family to a rescued dog. If you can't foster, or live somewhere else, please consider making a donation to this wonderful organization.
