The joys and heartaches of an old house. In the next few days, more ceiling needs to be ripped open, and the tile floor of our shower has to be jackhammered out so the plumbers can replace a leaking shower pan and old leaking pipe.
I will be living in bathroom chaos for a week.
It's painful to see the house being ripped apart, but I also know that regardless of the short term mess, it's important to do things right and the first time. I don't to have a patch job done only to have to rip up plaster again in a few years.
With any luck, I'll be able to return this blog to its regularly scheduled programming (aka, writing) soon.
huggs - maybe they can switch the handles, so the hot water handle has hot water and the cold water handle has cold?
ReplyDeleteJust sayin'. (Kidding here.)
What would be the fun in that? LOL
ReplyDeleteI really hope that they put up plastic to protect the rest of the house from dust. Drywall dust is the nastiest stuff to try and remove.
ReplyDeleteGood luck.
((hugs)) ... hope they get the work done quickly. Old houses can be such a joy, but when they need doing, there's often so many layers of 'patch-jobs' to remove before you can even start fixing it properly ... we've been going through it for the last five years with our reconstituted old wreck. It *will* be worth it in the end, hang in there.
