In a few hours, we leave for the longest trip of our lives: Boston to London, London to Bishkek, Bishkek to Osh, Kyrgyzstan. It will take us nearly 30 hours of elapsed travel time to get from here to there, as we cross 10 timezones and out of the known into the new.
This is the landscape we will be inhabiting for the next 3 weeks:
This is the flicker feed of photographs with the keyword "kyrgyzstan". I hope to add my own photographs to this collection in the coming weeks. If we can access the internet during our travels, I will try to do some blogging, but for the most part, I am planning to write longhand, the old fashioned way with paper and pen. I promise, I will share the adventure with you upon my return.
Yes! That is the Kyrgyzstan I remember. I'm so glad you're having this opportunity to visit the other end of the world. We slept in a yurt in that high, alpine desert like the one in your photos from Flicker. It's an experience! I really do hope the boys keep their journals. It a once in a life time adventure!ReplyDelete
