Halfway through "HOMD", the fingers crossed edition

The universe has given me feedback that this manuscript is close. Maybe just inches away from being publication ready. Most of the heavy lifting was done in earlier drafts. This draft is good. It's solid. Maybe 5 or 10 years ago, it would even have been good enough to be published.

But today's market is unforgiving. Your manuscript has to be better than good enough, so I'm taking everything I've learned in almost a million words of writing and taking another, albeit targeted, look at this story.

I am hopeful that the next round of edits will come in partnership with an editor at a publishing house. My goal is to get this revision in the hands of my agent before my family and I leave for our upcoming central Asia adventure. That will leave my creative mind clear to find new stories in a new culture and a new landscape.
