"The Between" at 30K

It was a slow writing day. In fact, it's been a slow writing week, but that's to be expected when you're battling the cold/virus from hell. About the only member of my family who has been happy with me being sick has been my dog, Tigger. She's been curling up with me on the sofa for my daily can't-keep-my-eyes-open or my-brain-functioning naps.

When a nap is longer than 3 hours, can it still be called a nap?

I know I have a 'candy bar' scene waiting for me when I'm feeling better. I have the scene outlined and it practically crackles with tension. 5 major characters come together in this scene and have 5 different motivations and interpretations of the events. Should be a great one to write.

I have a few more of these kind of scenes waiting for me to reach their part of the story. They are like way points on a trip navigation. I'm not entirely sure what roads I will take to reach these scenes, but I know the general direction I need to travel in. The rest I will discover along the way.

But I have to be able to stay awake and it would be lovely if I could stop coughing as well.

  1. I hope you get well soon and hammer out those scenes. The conflicts between the five characters definitely sounds like they will be fun to write.
