I am not a spontaneous person. True confession. It's one of the things I wish I could change about myself.
Tonight, I did something spontaneous. Really.
My older son was flipping through the Baltimore Sun newspaper (we're in Maryland at the in-laws on vacation) and he saw an ad for the Orioles. They're playing the Red Sox. He wanted to know if we could catch a game.
Well, we're pretty hard-core Red Sox fans, but it's near impossible to see a game at Fenway without an act of Congress. So I went on the Orioles website and bought tickets for 7 for tonight's game. Me, Hubby, my 2 kiddos, my niece and nephew, and my father in law. Off we went to drive 90 minutes from the Eastern Shore to Baltimore. 20 miles as the crow flies, right across the bay, but not so swiftly as the car drives. Parking was $10! That alone qualifies as a minor miracle.
It was a lovely night for baseball. The Sox won the game, which made it all the more sweet for me, and Tek hit a homer. (Go Tek!)
There were probably as many (if not more) Sox fans at Camden Yards as Orioles fans.
Hubby took some great photos that will have to wait to be posted as I'm not sure we have the correct connectors to get the pics from the digital camera to my tablet and onto the blog.
All in all, a fabulous evening and an unexpected pleasure.
Go Sox!
ReplyDeleteWhere on the Eastern Shore are you? I've got family in Easton.
