I've talked about the internet poetry community I belong to--Wild Poetry Forum. Well, one of its particular joys is the mingling of poetic talent and vision from all over the globe. I regularly read, crit, and receive crit from poets in the UK, the Philippines, the Middle East, and throughout the US. Sometimes, two Wild members realize they live geographically close by and I have connected with a few poets in the surrounds of Boston.
I only realized after the fact, when I mentioned something about the Concord Poetry Center and the reading of Jane Kenyon's work, that one of my poetry compatriots from Wild Poetry was there. Not only was Rus Bowden at the reading, but at the very small reception following it that I also attended. It is likely we brushed elbows at the wine bar or over cheese and crackers, and neither of us knew it.
The blessings and curses of the anonymous and asynchronous world of the internet.
That is a great comment you made over at Wild:
